On the 11th – 14th June 2018, Office of the Higher Education Commission (OHEC) led delegation of representatives from 15 Thai higher education institutions to join the “11th China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week” - Thai-China (Guizhou) Education and Exchange at Kunming, Yunnan, China hosted by Royal Thai Consulate-General, Kunming, China.
This event was already organized for the 3rd year with the purpose to strengthen academic collaboration between Thai and Yunnan higher education institutes. It was also a great opportunity for Thai higher education institutes to seek collaborations with the higher education institutes in Guizhou and Hunan.
At the event, “Thai-Yunnan Universities Network” and cooperative clusters in 5 areas including (1) Linguistic, (2) Health and Medical, (3) Agriculture, (4) Tourism and Healthcare Services, and (5) Digital Technology was announced and the round table session was held between the administrators of Thai and Yunnan higher education institutes to discuss collaborative model under 5 mentioned clusters.
In addition, Thai higher education institutions had also discussed academic collaboration with higher education institutions in Guizhou, and the Hunan Railway System Institute as well as the participation in the educational exhibitions.
In this occasion, the delegation of Chiang Mai University led by Associate Professor Rome Chiranukrom, Acting Vice President for International Relations and Alumni Affairs had attended the conference and, in the round table session, Associate Professor Sirianong Namwongprom M.D., Assistant to the Dean, presented on “Tourism and Health Care Services” which was received keen interest from the participants.
