Study at CMU

                                       

Chiang Mai University is the first University established by the government in northern part of Thailand. It was founded in January 1964, under a Royal Charter granted by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Chiang Mai University is in beautiful surroundings at the foot of Doi Suthep, Chiang Mai Province, a cultural and natural wonderland with ethnic diversity, a multitude of attractions and welcoming hospitality. It is recognized as one of Thailand’s top nine National Research Universities and ranked 3rd amongst Thailand’s Universities.

There are 21 Faculties and 3 colleges that providing 33 International Programs; 6 Bachelors, 11 Masters and 16 Doctoral. All international programs are taught in English language and require that students must have a minimum ability in English language. Entry requirements for international programs are in accordance with the Chiang Mai University Announcement of Candidates Eligible for Admission to the International Programs for each academic year.

Academic Calendar
The University academic year is divided into two 18-week semesters, and, for some courses, an eight-week summer session.
First semester - August to mid-December
Second semester - January to mid-May
Summer session - mid-May to mid-July

Exchange & Short Courses Program

Exchange Program

Eligible for the students from exchange partner university and will spend up to one academic year or semester. Student should contact the International Affairs Office or relevant unit of your home university, to check whether it has an exchange agreement with Chiang Mai University or any additional requirements.
